Indiana trip. 8.22-31 part 1

We took the drive up over two days so we could make it easier on all of us and so we left after work on Thursday and then got there on Friday.   I took just a few pics of everyone on the second day, the kids did a great job and for the most part we had fun driving together.  There were a couple of  food stops that didn't go so well, especially the subway close to Chicago where I ordered flat bread pizza type things for the boys and they were terrible.  (I think it was the subway employees there, they messed up just about everything!)

While stopped at a gas station we got Sarah out to eat and then the boys wanted to hold her and she just loved on them!

Right across from the awful subway was a filling station named LUKE!

This girl travels so well!  Sleeps and plays and is happy!

Dawn and Ryan and kids were already there and the next day Isaac had a couple of soccer games so we all went out to cheer him on.  I think they won!

All the girls together!  Cassia and Anna took turns holding and entertaining Sarah!

In the afternoon we were supposed to go to a baby shower for Greg's cousins Laura and Donovan but the guest of honor wasn't there because her dr decided to induce her that day!  We missed her but had fun anyway making headbands and decorating onesies!

Glenda, the grandma, holding her other newest grandbaby!

besides puff paint they had lots of other ideas for decorating the onesies including iron on fabric.  I made the one with the pink flowers on the white onesie.

Vyanna loved playing with Great Grandma Myers' walker!

The next day we went to a children's museum just off of Lake Michigan and had a picnic lunch together before going in to explore.  It was beautiful out and we had a lake view!

The museum was lots of fun with tons of stuff for the kids to do and learn about and the adults enjoyed it a lot too.

the table below spun around and you were supposed to try to get objects to fall onto specific spots while it was moving.

The had a big music area that was really cool that explained different things about sound.

And something that you could use to make a bubble around you!

Part of the museum was in a different building down the hill from the other building so down we walked!  it was quite a ways down so it was really nice when the men went and got the vans and drove down to pick us all up later!

So sweet!

It's Super Man!

The lower part of the museum had a  huge water works area that the kids could play in, below Aaron is making waves.

They had great aprons and stools everywhere so the kids wouldn't completely soak themselves!

Aaron was in heaven, I think he could have played there all day!

Sarah tuckered out and had a nice nap even though it was pretty noisy!

They also had a dinosaur area with these dinosaur games where the kids pretend to be dinosaurs and use their senses to find the things they need to survive, like water and food and other dinosaurs.

Back at home, Papa and Sarah playing!

Greg and I talked about just staying home the next day but since there wasn't a lot more time with Dawn and Ryan and kids we ended up deciding to go to the dunes with them.  Unfortunately Ryan didn't know that there were more than one set of dunes, Indiana and Michigan.  Dawn assumed we would be going to the same one Greg was talking about because that was the "better"one and the one they always went to, but Ryan had gotten directions to the other one.  When we got there they were no where to be seen and after a while they called and we realized what had happened.   We decided to each just stay where we were since it was at least another hour drive between the two places and a storm was supposed to come in that afternoon.  It was a good thing we did because we only got about 2 or 2.5 hours before the storm rolled in and chased us away.

It was still a fun day and I was really glad we got the chance to go.
